Plant impossible gardens.
Look forward to dreams.
Cry during movies.
Cultivate moods.
Swing as high as you can on a swing set, by moonlight.
Do it for love.
Take lots of naps.
Take moon baths.
Giggle with children.
Listen to old people.
Drive away fear.
Play with everything.
Entertain your inner child.
Build a fort with blankets.
Get wet.
Write love letters.
Live.
"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."-
Jack Kerouac
After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman,
not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...

The Thing Is, by Ellen Bass
to love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it
and everything you've held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it.
When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, an obesity of grief,
you think, How can a body withstand this?
Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you, again.
Self professed neat freak, I love to laugh and be silly. I am a pescatarian- "if it swims...". I love intellectual debate and anyone or anything that can get me thinking. I absolutely love to go deep sea fishing. Caffeine is necessary for proper function. I love to learn. Books are better than movies, but both of them are an essential part of my life. I love animals and being outside. I want to buy a sailboat and sail away. Seriously. It is on the to do list. I have a long to do list! I ask too many questions. I love museums almost as much as I love aquariums. I love to sing out loud in my car, and when I am not singing, I am yelling at traffic! I am a prolific tailgater. I tend to talk too much and often ramble. I love acoustic music. My happiest days are spent around the ocean. I usually speak very animatedly and gesture. I get teased about it a lot. I want a big porch one day. I stumble often and usually have a bruise or two to prove it. My mouth gets me in trouble. I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I have strong opinions and I like to share them. I am compassionate, quirky, and very sarcastic. I believe that life is a journey- a journey toward happiness, understanding, and peace. I have a long way to go before I fully realize those goals, and for now, my journey is taking me to PA school!
